In Fortnite's expansive Battle Royale island, players can encounter a variety of characters, each offering unique contributions to the gameplay experience. The game features two distinct types of NPCs: friendly characters who provide valuable services and hostile ones that will attack on sight. While it may be tempting to interact only with the friendly NPCs, both categories can play a critical role in achieving a Victory Royale.
Whether players are seeking out a formidable enemy or a helpful ally to join them in battle, this guide will pinpoint the locations of all non-playable characters (NPCs) across the Chapter 5 Season 4 map.
Updated September 19, 2024: The latest update, v31.20, introduced the fifth phase of Story Quests with the “I Am Iron Man” missions. Iron Man has been added to the game, complete with his own themed quests, various Stark Industries weapons, and the limited-time Day of Doom LTM. Iron Man will remain an NPC on the Fortnite map for the duration of Chapter 5 Season 4, allowing players to complete his quests.

The island also features hostile NPCs, but players shouldn't shy away from them completely. Many of these characters drop valuable rewards that can significantly impact the outcome of a match.
As soon as players enter a match, markers will appear on their maps, indicating the locations of Medallion Bosses that haven’t been challenged yet.
There are three Medallion Bosses scattered across the map, each bestowing a unique ability to its conqueror. Players can find these bosses at the following locations:
- Doombot: Doom Castle
- Emma Frost: The Raft
- Mysterio: Doomstadt
These bosses come with minions ready to defend them, so players should eliminate these henchmen first to minimize damage before tackling the boss. Upon defeat, each boss drops a Medallion and unique Mythic weapons.
Forecast Tower Boss Locations in Fortnite
Additionally, Forecast Towers are located near Reclaimed Villa and Dumpenhausen. Before the second Storm Circle begins to close, three hostile NPCs will spawn at these sites.
Taking them down allows players to acquire the boss’s Epic-rarity Striker Burst Rifle and secure a forecast, revealing the next Storm Circle before it becomes visible.
Players can also find Latverian Tactical Grunts, commonly known as Doom’s Henchmen, in several areas. These NPCs guard hostile characters like the Forecast Tower mini-bosses and Medallion Bosses, and they can be located at various Latverian Dig sites across the island.
While they may be weak and not as intelligent as Medallion Bosses, they can be beneficial for quests requiring players to deal damage to opponents. Here’s where to find Latverian Tactical Grunts:
Dig sites:
- Northeast of Rebel's Roost
- Northwest of The Underworld
- South of Grim Gate
- The Ol' Mill, southeast of Doomstadt
- North of Grand Glacier
- West of Summit Temple, northeast of Mount Olympus
- Northeast of Nitrodrome
- East of Brawler's Battleground
- Sandy Steppes
Forecast Towers:
- Hill north of Dumpenhausen
- Hill north of Snooty Station
Boss Medallion Points of Interest:
- The Raft
- Doomstadt
- Doom Castle
