Planet: Reboot, Highly-Anticipated Open-World Sci-Fi RPG, to Release in China

Planet: Reboot, a highly-anticipated open-world sci-fi RPG, is set to be released in China later this year. Developed by MMC Society, the game offers cross-progression between mobile and PC platforms. The test server for the game has already started, and players can now apply for access. Following the completion of the testing phase, the official launch in China is scheduled for the end of this year. MMC Society, known for their work on similar open-world games, previously developed Project: Arrival, which conducted a Closed Beta in Canada in January 2022 and underwent testing in China as well.

Interestingly, Planet: Reboot appears to be the Chinese counterpart to Earth: Revival by Nuverse, which was announced exactly one year ago and had a limited launch in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao. By name alone, it seems that Earth: Revival can also be considered as Planet: Reboot.

In Planet: Reboot, players find themselves in a world devastated by alien invasion in the year 2112. As survivors, their mission is to explore the post-apocalyptic landscape, gather resources, restore energy, and craft advanced weapons and equipment. They must rebuild strongholds, reconstruct living spaces, and revive their homeland, all while battling against alien forces and discovering new alien species.

Following the alien invasion, the Earth lies in ruins, with signs of destruction and blue erosion everywhere. The air and soil have become hazardous, requiring players to utilize modern technology to restore the planet to its former glory.

In addition to rebuilding, players must engage in combat against the alien forces to liberate the Earth. By collecting and utilizing leftover technology, crafting armor and weaponry, and equipping themselves with power armor, they become mobile warriors ready to wage war against the invaders.

As of now, the release of Planet: Reboot in China is planned for the end of the year, with ongoing small-scale testing. Information regarding a global release is currently unavailable, but based on the developer's track record, it is possible that the game may eventually have a worldwide launch.

There is a high likelihood that Nuverse will handle the publishing for the global market, considering their involvement in the limited launch of Earth: Revival in three regions. Only time will reveal further details.
