Lollipop Chainsaw Remaster Expands to Additional Platforms

Great news for fans of the 2012 cult hit Lollipop Chainsaw! The upcoming remaster, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, will now also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, broadening its reach beyond the previously announced current-gen platforms. This is particularly exciting for those who still cherish their last-gen consoles and are eager to experience the updated version of this beloved game.

A Hit Reimagined

Lollipop Chainsaw, originally developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, was a distinctive hack-and-slash action game featuring Juliet Starling, a cheerleader armed with a chainsaw battling waves of zombies. The game was a commercial success, selling over a million units and establishing itself as one of the developer’s most successful titles. To mark its 10th anniversary in 2022, Dragami Games announced a remaster titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP.

Expanded Platform Availability

Initially, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was set to release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 25, 2024. However, Dragami Games President Yoshimi Yasuda has confirmed that the remaster will also be available on PS4 and Xbox One. These versions are scheduled for release in November 2024, catering to a broader audience of last-gen console owners.

What's New in the Remaster

The remaster will not only offer visual upgrades but will also introduce several enhancements to gameplay. Players can expect improved camera and input responsiveness, faster movement speeds, and adjusted abilities. The Chainsaw Blaster will feature increased Max Ammo, among other refinements aimed at enhancing the overall user experience and making the game more accessible to both new players and longtime fans.

New Voice Options and Collector's Edition

One intriguing feature of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is its expanded voice options. Juliet will be voiced in both Japanese and English, with the addition of a new Japanese voice actor, Yukari Tamura, known for roles like Tenten in Naruto and Qiqi in Genshin Impact. The remaster will also retain the original voices for fans who prefer the classic experience, with Tara Strong and Eri Kitamura among the original voice actors.

Additionally, it remains to be seen whether the previously announced Collector’s Edition—priced at $150 and including a 10-inch Juliet Starling statue, a keychain of Nick Carlisle’s head, a “Chop2Shop.Zom” sticker, the San Romero Knights High School Medal, and an art book—will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One versions.

With these updates and additions, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is set to offer a refreshed and expanded experience for both old and new fans alike.
