In Black Myth: Wukong, the Great Pagoda is a secretive location connected to the game's hidden ending. It's a remote area that's easy to overlook, especially if you stumble upon it by accident. The full significance of the Great Pagoda, including the meaning behind its grand murals, only becomes apparent after you've completed the game.

Although the full functionalities of the Great Pagoda are unlocked in the New Game+ mode, it's worth seeking out before finishing your first playthrough. This way, you'll have the Keeper's Shrine within the secret zone to teleport back conveniently whenever needed.

How to Locate the Great Pagoda

The Great Pagoda is situated in Chapter 3, a pivotal section where the Destined One is captured in the expansive Pagoda realm. As you progress, you'll face Captain Wise-Voice, a formidable foe who commands lightning, within a massive bell-shaped monument in this realm.

After defeating Captain Wise-Voice, you'll unlock the Outside the Wheel Keeper's Shrine. Continue forward to reach the Snow Veiled Trail area, which also contains a Keeper's Shrine for easier navigation. At this point, avoid the stairs that lead further into the story’s main progression.

Instead, turn right and follow a trail past a series of statues you’ll encounter after crossing a small wooden bridge. The trail leads to a flat icy expanse before a vertical cliff adorned with additional statues. Enter the cave in this area where twisting stones are visible near an interaction point. Activating this point will transport you to the Great Pagoda.

Understanding the Great Pagoda

The Great Pagoda plays a crucial role in unlocking the secret ending of Black Myth: Wukong. Upon entering, activate the Keeper's Shrine and examine the murals on the surrounding walls. There are six murals depicting your achievements, each related to secret tasks revealed only after completing the game.

When you achieve the normal ending, you can revisit the Great Pagoda in New Game+ mode to see a mural that reflects the events of the first ending. This provides a partial clue to the Pagoda’s purpose, but not the entire picture. To complete the remaining murals, you need to accomplish the following tasks:

- Locate The Ancient Guanyin Temple in Chapter 1

- Find The Kingdom of Sahi in Chapter 2

- Discover The Purple Cloud Mountain in Chapter 3

- Uncover The Bishui Cave in Chapter 4

- Finish Chapter 3’s Treasure Hunter side quest

Completing these tasks will fill in the remaining murals and summon a special NPC in the Great Pagoda. It's essential to perform these actions on your original save file from the normal ending, as starting a new file will require you to re-access all the Chapter regions.

The bosses in these secret areas should pose little challenge if you're equipped with strong gear in New Game+. For instance, Elder Jinchi can be easily defeated with the right equipment.

Once you've completed all the necessary tasks, equip the Jingubang Staff and Monkey King armor set, and speak to the mysterious NPC in the Great Pagoda. This will trigger a sequence of events leading to the true ending of Black Myth: Wukong, provided you’ve accessed the Great Pagoda early on.
