The beloved platformer Pizza Tower has just made its debut on the Nintendo Switch. Announced during Nintendo’s latest Indie World showcase, this exciting news means the game is available for download on the eShop today.

Created by indie developer Tour De Pizza, Pizza Tower has been celebrated for its vibrant, Wario Land-inspired gameplay. Originally released on PC through Steam in January 2023, it has now crossed over to the Switch, bringing its unique charm to a new audience. The Switch port was featured prominently in the Indie World showcase, and the 80-second trailer aired at the end of the August 27 livestream, suggesting Nintendo viewed it as a standout highlight. True to the trailer's promise, the game was available on the Switch eShop shortly after, around 8am PT / 11am ET / 5pm CET.
Priced at $19.99, the Switch version of Pizza Tower matches the cost of the Steam edition, offering players around $1 per level. While a typical playthrough of the game is estimated to take about six hours, completionists can expect up to 40 hours of gameplay, according to data from How Long To Beat.

Pizza Tower has earned acclaim as one of the top platformers of 2023 and boasts an impressive critical reception beyond its genre. The game holds a "Mighty" rating on OpenCritic with a score of 91 and a perfect 100% recommendation rate from reviewers. On Steam, it has garnered 55,000 "Very Positive" user reviews, affirming its status as one of the highest-rated games of the year.
Echoing the fast-paced platforming and boss fights of the Wario Land series, Pizza Tower features a distinctive art style reminiscent of '90s Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network cartoons. Its energetic soundtrack blends metal and funk, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

In addition to the Pizza Tower announcement, the August 27 Indie World livestream presented 16 other trailers, showcasing titles like Moth Kubit, Coffee Talk Tokyo, and Morsels. The event also revealed a release date for Neva, an atmospheric adventure game from GRIS developer Nomada Studio, set to launch on October 15.
