Shadow the Hedgehog fans can look forward to re-experiencing iconic levels from past games in Sonic X Shadow Generations, which will feature remastered versions of nostalgic elements from titles like Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), including revamped stages such as Space Colony ARK, Bullet Station, and Kingdom Valley.

Sega showcased some of the remade levels that Shadow the Hedgehog will have to re-experience in the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations. Many fans have been hyped about Sonic X Shadow Generations, as it is both a remaster of the 2011 original title and a chance to play as the Sonic franchise's most famous anti-hero. Much like the original Sonic Generations, the Shadow Generations half of this game has Shadow running through the character's history as a nostalgic revisit to his past playable appearances.
Shadow Generations' levels brings in elements from the last few games where Shadow was a main playable character, which include his introductory game, Sonic Adventure 2, along with other mainline entries and spin-offs in the franchise like the contentious Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Along the way, Shadow will have to battle against some of his most personal enemies, with Black Doom, the main villain of Shadow the Hedgehog, being seemingly responsible for Shadow's current time travel troubles. Some of the levels that Shadow will run through were shown off in a new video, comparing the remade levels to their older counterparts.

The three levels shown off in Sega's video were the Space Colony ARK, Bullet Station, and Kingdom Valley, which were all previously highlighted in Sonic X Shadow Generations' Summer Game Fest trailer. The Space Colony ARK level borrows heavily from its appearance in Sonic Adventure 2 as Final Chase, the last level of the Dark Story. The level has the same intro of Shadow grinding on a rail before landing on the platform, along with the rotating rings around the rail in space. The video also shows the graphical differences between SA2 and Shadow Generations, highlighting more dynamic lighting and background elements.
The video also shows off Bullet Station from Sonic Heroes, a grindrail-focused level. Like in Heroes, Shadow has to navigate through an area that is filled with oncoming trains and jumping from rail to rail, as there are more chances of falling into a bottomless pit. Unlike in Heroes, Shadow isn't accompanied by Rouge or Omega from Team Dark, his team from Heroes, and has to navigate the stages by himself, meaning certain obstacles that required their unique abilities have been streamlined to fit Shadow's kit.

The last level shown in this video is Kingdom Valley from the divisive Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), which was a pleasant surprise to many fans. The intro where Shadow enters with a realistic eagle was praised, as it was a notable aspect of the level itself. Kingdom Valley's graphics have been brightened up for Shadow Generations, and retains a lot of the original level's set pieces, such as the aforementioned eagle and grinding atop of air.
