Diablo Immortal is currently hosting a limited-time "Shadow of the Frozen Throne" crossover event that allows players to earn Frostmourne-themed cosmetics inspired by World of Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King expansion, including a Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic, by exploring Frozen Gates containing ice-themed monsters and completing associated activities before the event concludes on July 26, offering Diablo Immortal fans a unique opportunity to incorporate iconic elements from the Warcraft universe into their gameplay experience.
Diablo Immortal has officially launched its latest crossover event, "Shadow of the Frozen Throne," which draws inspiration from World of Warcraft's iconic Wrath of the Lich King expansion. This limited-time collaboration will run until July 26, giving Diablo Immortal players the opportunity to obtain several Frostmourne-themed cosmetic items as part of the event.
Frostmourne is widely recognized as one of the most legendary weapons in the World of Warcraft universe. This iconic blade played a pivotal role in the downfall of Arthas Menethil, who wielded it and ultimately succumbed to its corrupting influence, transforming him into the formidable Lich King. The Wrath of the Lich King expansion, which featured Arthas as the final boss, remains one of the most beloved chapters in World of Warcraft's history, making this Diablo Immortal crossover a particularly exciting opportunity for fans of both franchises.
Diablo Immortal players can now claim the iconic Frostmourne weapon from World of Warcraft as their own during the limited-time "Shadow of the Frozen Throne" crossover event, which runs until July 26 and tasks them with exploring Frozen Gates scattered throughout the game world, each containing a special instance filled with ice-themed monsters that grant a "Chill of the Frozen Throne" buff increasing damage and allowing players to raise enemies to fight alongside them, with successful completion of the event activities unlocking several Frostmourne-inspired cosmetics, including the legendary blade itself, for Diablo Immortal fans to proudly display as a testament to their mastery of this unique collaboration between the Diablo and World of Warcraft franchises.
From July 4 through July 26, Frozen Gates will spawn throughout Sanctuary, filled with icy enemies. Players can gain a new buff called Chill of the Frozen Throne, which increases damage and raises corpses as undead warriors after every five monsters killed. Cosmetic rewards include the Icecrown Frame for logging in once during the event, the Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic for completing the event, and the Icecrown Pathway Portal for making one real money purchase before the event ends.
Diablo Immortal players can earn several exclusive cosmetic rewards during the limited-time World of Warcraft crossover event. Simply by logging in to the game at any point between July 4 and July 26, users will automatically receive the Icecrown Frame as a login reward. Those who fully complete the event-related activities will be granted the highly sought-after Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic, allowing them to wield the iconic blade from the Warcraft universe. Furthermore, fans dedicated enough to make at least one real-money purchase within Diablo Immortal during the crossover period can claim an additional special reward - the Icecrown Pathway portal. This portal will become available to claim starting on July 11, so players should be sure to select the specific Diablo Immortal character and class they wish to use it with when they log in to redeem it.
While Diablo Immortal currently offers players the opportunity to wield Frostmourne through its World of Warcraft crossover event, recent discoveries have also uncovered two Frostmourne-resembling models within the files of Diablo 4, leaving fans to wonder if and when these iconic items may become obtainable in the next mainline Diablo installment, potentially through a future in-game event or the game's item store, as seen with the Invincible Aspect mount cosmetics in October 2023, though official confirmation from Blizzard remains necessary to temper expectations.
