If you’ve been craving a way to relive the dusty, gun-slinging world of Red Dead Redemption on the go, Netflix has just delivered something pretty special. You can pre-register for the game now on iOS and Android, with an expected release on December 4th, 2025. This is the first time Rockstar’s classic Western epic—and its undead spin-off, Undead Nightmare—will officially arrive on mobile via Netflix Games, included for free with your Netflix subscription!
YEEHAW. Red Dead Redemption is coming soon to mobile for the first time ever on Netflix Games. Included with your membership.

This is the first mobile release of Red Dead Redemption in a fully native form. And yes, it’s not just a “lite” version: the mobile build includes the entire single-player campaign plus Undead Nightmare, plus bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition... all optimized for touchscreen controls! Rockstar has adapted aiming, riding, lassoing, and navigation to make sure the experience feels smooth on phones?!
One important note: there is currently no authoritative information confirming a standalone paid version outside of Netflix. All major reports focus on the Netflix Games release, so for now, a subscription is the way to access it.

This launch is more than a nostalgia trip; it’s a strong statement from Netflix in its ongoing push into gaming. Over the past few years, Netflix has steadily expanded into high-profile titles, but adding a heavyweight like Red Dead Redemption signals that they’re serious about mobile gaming. For Rockstar, it’s also a smart move—reintroducing the game to a new audience while keeping longtime fans engaged... especially as players continue speculating about future releases or potential remasters.

Beyond mobile, the re-release also comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 on the same date. Modern console versions offer 60 frames per second, HDR support, and up to 4K resolution on PS5 and Series X|S... Switch 2 also gets DLSS support and optional mouse controls?!
For existing owners on PS4, Xbox One, or the original Switch, Rockstar provides a free upgrade to the modern version on new consoles, which shows a real commitment to fans instead of just chasing new sales.

Players are already talking. Many are excited to play on the go, but there’s natural concern over touchscreen controls, battery usage, and performance across different phone models. Some are planning to pair a controller for a more traditional feel... which might be the smartest move if you want a precise shooting experience?!

- Accessibility: Now you don’t need a console to experience one of the most beloved Western adventures. If you have a smartphone, you’re in.
- Value: Netflix subscribers get this massive game for free. Considering the content, that’s incredible.
- Preservation: Modern ports keep Rockstar’s classics alive and relevant.
- Future Potential: If the mobile version succeeds, it could pave the way for more Rockstar classics on phones, hinting at future remasters or expansions!

The Netflix mobile release of Red Dead Redemption is exciting and bold. It’s not just a port—it’s a careful adaptation, packing the full single-player experience, Undead Nightmare, and bonus content. Multiplayer is missing, yes... but the value for long-time fans and newcomers alike is undeniable. December 4th is shaping up to be a must-mark date for Netflix subscribers ready to ride the dusty trails with John Marston!
