There’s something quietly devastating about the way My Little Puppy opens. Before the first bark, before the first tear, you meet Bong-gu — a Welsh Corgi who’s known abandonment, illness, and the soft mercy of being found again. His life was ordinary and fleeting: days of tug-of-war, long naps, and that simple happiness only a dog can know. And then, like all good dogs, he crossed the rainbow bridge... But that isn’t where his story ends!

Today, developer Dreamotion, under KRAFTON Japan, releases My Little Puppy on Steam — a gentle, heart-tugging adventure that asks one universal question: what if love never truly ends?

The game begins in the afterlife — a quiet, dreamlike version of “dog heaven.” Bong-gu awakens from his nap, nose twitching to a familiar scent. His dad’s scent. It’s faint but undeniable, and that’s all it takes. Without hesitation, he sets off from paradise into a world that feels both real and ethereal — a borderland between life and death — determined to find his beloved owner once more...
From this simple premise, My Little Puppy builds something deeply moving. The story doesn’t rely on spectacle. Instead, it leans on emotion — the way light filters through clouds, the sound of paws crunching through snow, the ache of distance. It’s a journey through deserts, mountains, and beaches, each landscape quietly holding fragments of memories and lost connections.

You play as Bong-gu, and every action reminds you of what it means to be a dog. You can sniff, bark, run, and jump — but not everything comes easy. You’ll need help from other dogs and even wandering souls to overcome obstacles. This isn’t a power fantasy; it’s a lesson in humility and connection...
Gameplay shifts fluidly between adventure, action, and racing elements, but never loses sight of what it truly is — a story about love, reunion, and the quiet courage of hope. It’s not about how fast you run; it’s about who you meet along the way!

Visually, My Little Puppy is stunning without shouting about it. Its art direction leans toward watercolor hues and soft, painterly textures. The environments feel alive yet lonely, mirroring the bittersweet tone of Bong-gu’s journey. The soundtrack, delicate and reflective, lingers even after the screen fades to black — a perfect companion to this wordless emotional odyssey...
What makes My Little Puppy powerful isn’t just its craftsmanship; it’s its understanding of grief and gratitude. It doesn’t try to fix loss — it simply acknowledges it, then wraps it in warmth. When Bong-gu finally reunites with his dad, you don’t feel sadness so much as peace. It’s a reminder that love, once real, never disappears. It just changes form...

If you’ve ever loved a pet, or said goodbye to one, this game will touch something deep inside you. It’s short, tender, and unafraid to sit in silence — a rare thing in modern gaming...
So, what about you?! Do you believe that when we go, our loyal friends will be waiting? Maybe My Little Puppy won’t give you a definitive answer. But it might just make you hope a little harder that love really does find its way home...
My Little Puppy is available now on Steam for PC. A PlayStation version is in development.
