If you caught my previous article, Sword of Justice: Can You Handle a Truly Non Pay-to-Win Game?, you probably remember how refreshing it is to find a game that doesn’t force you to throw your wallet at the screen just to get stronger. Today, let’s dive into another reason this game stands apart: its unique and surprisingly generous skill gacha system.
Unlike most mobile games where you’re desperately pulling to unlock new characters (and praying to RNG gods), Sword of Justice flips the script. You’re not drawing heroes here — you’re drawing skills. Yes, those flashy Martial Arts Skills (Temp. Trans.) and powerful Legendary Moves (Temp. Trans.) that you actually use in battle.
Instead of chasing characters with random stats and hope, every pull grants you a “Seekers’ Notice” (Temp. Trans.) — an item that lets you summon a skill. Need that sweeping crowd control skill or a devastating finisher? Pull it here. The game constantly introduces new skills every season, and these appear first in the Limited Skill Pool and then settle into the Permanent Skill Pool, both available for you to draw from.
And here’s the kicker: the difference between these pools isn’t huge. The Limited Pool is mostly shiny new skills and a sprinkle of old favorites, while the Permanent Pool is the big mixed bag of everything available. So, no panic if you miss a new skill — it’ll eventually show up again.
Every single pull costs 120 Ornate Jades — a currency you can easily earn just by exploring the world, completing quests, or participating in events. That’s right: you’re not forced to drop cash constantly. Want to spend? Fine. But it’s completely possible to build a solid skillset without spending a dime. Seriously, this game is that chill.
Plus, Seekers’ Notices can be earned through various ways, including quests and the in-game shop, so you’re not stuck grinding endlessly just to get a shot at your next skill.
Pulling skills still comes down to chance, but Sword of Justice is one of the few games that actually cares about your sanity. The Wish System lets you “wish” for a specific skill, boosting your chances up to a whopping 80%. Can’t get it? Don’t sweat. The next guaranteed golden pull will be that exact skill you wished for. It’s like the game knows when you’ve had enough “bad luck” and decides to cut you some slack.
And if you’re wondering about pity counters: you’re guaranteed a Martial Arts Skill (Temp. Trans.) by 50 pulls and a Legendary Move (Temp. Trans.) by 60 pulls. That means no endless suffering trying to get that one move you’ve been eyeing.
Here’s a twist: not every skill needs to come from the gacha. Many Martial Arts Skills (Temp. Trans.) unlock naturally as your relationship with certain NPCs deepens — build enough trust and boom, that skill’s yours. Meanwhile, all the Legendary Moves (Temp. Trans.) can be earned through story quests or by collecting specific items. So yeah, you can basically “free” your way to some of the most powerful moves in the game. This is a rare case where the term “white whale” doesn’t apply.
Skills — both Martial Arts and Legendary — can be upgraded all the way to 6 stars. While you only need about five copies of a skill to max it out, thanks to how the game hands out duplicates and fragments (“Shards” in the Martial Arts Shop (Temp. Trans.)), upgrading feels manageable, not like a second job.
Think of it like this: you don’t need to max out every single skill. Choose what suits your playstyle, your class, or the boss you’re about to fight. Damage dealers? Pick the high-hit combos. Support players? Grab those buffs and heals. PvP enthusiasts? There’s a handful of sneaky crowd control skills waiting for you.
Absolutely not. Ornate Jades are plentiful, Seekers’ Notices can be earned without spending, and even the rarest Legendary Moves can be farmed through gameplay. Unless you’re one of those “I want every skill maxed yesterday” kind of players, this system is downright generous.
Seriously, compared to other mobile games where you feel like you’re gambling away your rent money just to summon a decent character, Sword of Justice feels like a breath of fresh air. No endless grind, no constant pressure. Just skill, strategy, and your own pace.
If you’re curious about how the gameplay feels, or the social and non-pay-to-win aspects we talked about in my earlier piece, this skill gacha fits right into that ecosystem. It’s designed to empower your unique journey through the Jianghu — not to chain you down with paywalls.
So, ready to pull your first Seekers’ Notice? Or maybe you’ve already got your eye on that Legendary Move you can’t wait to master? Either way, the world of Sword of Justice is waiting for you to unlock your potential — one skill at a time.
