When two legendary Square Enix franchises cross paths, you know something special is coming. And this summer, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and Dragon Quest Tact are teaming up for a crossover event that’s got longtime fans—and new players—buzzing. Whether you're a DQ veteran, a die-hard FFVII loyalist, or just here for the free gear, this collaboration is loaded with surprises you won’t want to miss.
The event officially kicks off in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis on July 30, 2025, and it brings with it iconic gear, unique missions, limited-time rewards, and a Dragon Quest-styled twist on the FFVII universe. But here's the thing: like all good events, it’s on a timer. If you want to make the most of it, you’ve got to know what you’re doing.

This collab is the second half of a two-part event. Back in April 2025, Dragon Quest Tact players were introduced to FFVII characters like Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth (young version), Aerith, and Reno—reimagined in the Dragon Quest Tact art style and fully integrated into that game’s tactical combat.
Now it’s FFVII: Ever Crisis’ turn to play host. Starting July 30, the world of Ever Crisis gets a full-on Dragon Quest makeover, with themed gear, special enemies, and crossover content you won’t find anywhere else. It’s Square Enix synergy at its best—creative, nostalgic, and rewarding for fans of both worlds.
Cloud Strife takes center stage with a full-blown transformation into a Dragon Quest hero. He’s equipped with Erdrick’s Sword and Armor, complete with that classic golden trim and blue tunic. The iconic FFVII protagonist becomes a perfect stand-in for Dragon Quest’s legendary warriors.
Aerith Gainsborough also gets a magical makeover. She’s sporting the Supreme Sage Garb and wielding the Supreme Sage’s Staff, straight from the Dragon Quest world. She looks equal parts serene and powerful—and yes, it comes with boosted healing and magic stats, so this set is more than just for show.
These outfits don’t just look cool—they come with combat bonuses. You'll want to use these skins in battle to get the full benefit, especially during the event stages.
Say hello to Banesword Sephiroth, a special event-only version of everyone's favorite one-winged angel, redesigned with a Dragon Quest aesthetic.
This isn’t just a visual reskin. Banesword Sephiroth has a unique moveset, new animations, and some truly nasty mechanics that require careful planning. If you try to brute-force it with your usual team, prepare to get smacked down.
Banesword Sephiroth stacks buffs with each turn and unleashes powerful area damage after building up his gauge. You’ll need a well-balanced squad, including a strong healer (Aerith in her new gear is perfect), debuffers, and magic resistance to keep your team alive past turn six.
Defeating him on higher difficulties unlocks some of the best gear and rare event currency, which you can then use in the crossover shop.

Log in daily to receive premium currency, stamina, and event tokens. These accumulate fast and will set you up for success.
Complete event missions daily and weekly. These grant limited-time gear tickets, crafting materials, and even full weapons. Make sure to check the missions tab regularly.
Farm the crossover shop for exclusive loot. You can spend tokens earned from boss fights and event stages on:
Great Sabrecat weapon for Red XIII
Gear upgrade materials
Character EXP boosts
Event-exclusive memory shards
The shop refreshes weekly, so don’t spend all your tokens on the first day. Plan accordingly.
It’s a true two-way collab. Both games hosted the other franchise’s content in their own unique style. That’s rare. Usually, mobile collabs are one-sided.
The art is seriously good. Cloud and Aerith wearing Dragon Quest gear isn’t just a cheap skin—they look like they belong in both universes.
The content is substantial. You get new gameplay, not just cosmetics. From a challenging boss to gear with real stat boosts, this event delivers on mechanics and design.

Yes. Whether you're a returning player or brand new to Ever Crisis, this is the perfect time to play. The event is beginner-friendly and packed with valuable content for veterans too.
It falls between major game updates, so there’s no overlapping event pressure. You’ve got time to enjoy it without being overwhelmed.
Upgrade your event gear immediately. Dragon Quest weapons and outfits grant extra event stats. Level them up first.
Use multiplayer co-op mode for high-difficulty stages. It’s faster, more efficient, and increases drop chances.
Don’t burn all your stamina early. Save some for higher-tier missions and challenges that unlock later in the week.
Watch the event calendar. New missions unlock progressively. Check in every few days to stay on track.

The Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis x Dragon Quest Tact crossover is more than just fan service—it’s a creative, rewarding event filled with character skins, exclusive weapons, and a boss fight that actually makes you think.
If you're here for the story, the rewards, or the nostalgia, this event delivers on all fronts. But it’s only available for a limited time. Make sure you jump in before the event ends so you don’t miss out on some of the best content of the year.
Now go get that Erdrick gear, defeat Banesword Sephiroth, and enjoy everything this epic crossover has to offer.
