MapleStory Worlds, which was initially available only in South Korea, is set to make its North and South American debut on October 16, 2024, for PC, Android, and iOS devices. This exciting soft launch is rolling out globally later in 2024.

Since its inception in 2003, the MapleStory franchise has expanded with several iterations, including MapleStory 2, MapleStory DS, MapleStory M, MapleStory: Reboot, MapleStory 3DS, and Pocket MapleStory. The MMORPG has always emphasized social and community features, and MapleStory Worlds aims to empower both players and creators by leveraging the franchise's extensive history and resources.
In MapleStory Worlds, players can collaborate to create and explore both developer-crafted and user-generated Worlds. With access to over 30 million assets, players can either utilize straightforward drag-and-drop tools or engage in advanced Lua Scripting to design their worlds. The gameplay is not confined to the traditional 2D or MMORPG formats; users can craft experiences suitable for virtually any game genre. Additionally, creators have the opportunity to develop in-game and avatar items, setting their own revenue models for players to purchase.

Customization is a key feature, allowing players to personalize their avatars with an array of MapleStory assets or user-generated content. Options abound, including various facial features, hair colors, hairstyles, clothing, accessories, and much more. Nexon touts MapleStory Worlds as a "one-of-a-kind experience" that can accommodate a large player base, incorporating social functionalities such as friend lists, text chat, and dedicated chat rooms.
With the upcoming soft launch, MapleStory Worlds will officially be accessible in North America, South America, and South Korea starting October 16. For players in other regions, the platform is expected to expand in the future, so it’s advisable to stay tuned for updates.
