Capcom has rolled out a new update for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, reintroducing the beloved Juggernaut Glitch, which was originally removed from Marvel vs. Capcom 2. One of the biggest surprises for fighting game enthusiasts in 2024 was Capcom's announcement of this comprehensive compilation, which includes all six classic titles that have long been difficult to access without paying exorbitant prices from third-party sellers or investing in an Arcade1Up cabinet.
Currently, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is available digitally, with a physical release slated for November. Fans have eagerly taken to online battles, reliving the classic team-based gameplay found in titles like Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Longtime players have been exploring the games to uncover what’s left, including infamous infinite combos and glitches. One standout, the Juggernaut Glitch from Marvel vs. Capcom 2, allows players to activate his power-up move, tag him out, and then reintroduce him while the power-up remains active.
Although some players were initially disappointed by the glitch's absence, its removal was logical, given that it was unintended behavior. This makes the latest update for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics even more remarkable. In addition to addressing recent online issues, the update includes a surprising feature: the restoration of the Juggernaut Glitch, much to the delight of devoted fans.
Now, for Marvel vs. Capcom 2, players can reactivate the iconic Juggernaut Glitch through the EX Settings menu found under Options. By selecting "Keep effects on tag," players can maintain the Cyttorak Power-Up after tagging Juggernaut out; otherwise, the power-up will reset. Even more exciting, this option is available for online play, potentially giving players an alternative to traditional meta characters like Magneto, Storm, and Psylocke. While Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics has already garnered positive reviews, features like this enhance its reputation among players.
Initially, the Capcom Fighting Collection was announced exclusively for PC, PlayStation, and Switch, leaving Xbox fans disappointed by the absence of a release for Microsoft's platform. It was later revealed that a technical issue was the primary reason for this exclusion. However, after collaboration between Capcom and Microsoft, a solution has been found. Although Xbox users will have to wait a little longer, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is expected to launch on Xbox in 2025.
