I love this game and have played it, and the original star traders, for years. Controls are intuitive, artwork is well done, good storyline, and so on. So why is my rating 4 stars? One reason and, sadly, it's a biggie in my book. The game doesn't seem to save unlock progress. I got a new phone and, even after I logged into Google play, my previous unlock progress didn't seem to be saved. As such, I'm now stuck backtrack just to get some of my favorite content back. Good game, frustrating issue.

I'm honestly struggling to find a fault with this game. Interesting, deeply mechanical gameplay?: Check. A story with player choice and involvement?: Check Nice soundtrack?: Check Multiple ships, classes and ways to play?: Check. These are the sort of refreshing games we need on mobile platforms. I haven't had that much fun with a mobile title for a while. I do have to point out I am still in the early-mid game so don't know how things turn out later on. For now however, heavily recommended!

I've played a lot of space games, for every 25 I probably like... One. This qualifies. There's no rush unlike some games where time progresses whether you're playing it or not. The factions feel politically different and there doesn't seem to be a clear right or wrong, so you can make your own decisions about who to help or not. Overall I give it a 9/10. Only lacking in alien races and graphically it's not the greatest. Minor complaints for me though.

Over 300 updates. That is the level of commitment by the developers after 4 years since it's release. Growing it, improving it, never relenting on their dedication. The game itself has a bit of a learning curve but is very flexible and fun. A lot of the complaints about difficulties of ship combat or mutiny or whatever are easily mitigated once you understand a bit more of the game. And there are plenty of guides out there. Be warned it is addictive. Highly recommended.

I'm just starting to play and I'm impressed by the setup and dialogue. I'd like to give 4 stars or more (still checking it out), but one thing I noticed is a big problem. The dialogue screen on the first mission, where you can meet contacts, has things you say to them to start the conversation. The princess' dialogue is obscured partially by the HUD. Two options, back and map block the conversation context.

Extremely addictive, has a lot of depth, and offers quite the different experience to that of other games. It really shows that the Trese Brothers have refined there game a lot. If you were not interested in the original Star Trader you may still want to check this out. My only real complaint is that the learning curve is quite steep and there isn't much help in getting over it other then trial and error. It also feels like a lot more could be done too - no ship surrender for example.
